In this photo editorial, photographer Roger Vekstein (@rogerveksteinph) captured Sergio Perdomo (@sergioperdomoo) in the vibrant streets of New York’s West Village. Inspired by Sergio’s natural presence and versatility, the goal was to create images that blended elegance with spontaneity. As the shoot progressed, Sergio interacted with his surroundings, hanging from ledges and posing on trash bins, which added a fun, dynamic touch to the images.

To capture both the model and the urban environment, Roger used his Sony A7IV with a 24-70mm 2.8 lens, offering the flexibility to shoot wide and close-up shots with ease. The location was chosen for its urban energy, and much of it was discovered spontaneously as they walked through the neighborhood, contributing to the organic feel of the final result.

Post-production focused primarily on color grading, maintaining an authentic and realistic style. Roger only refined essential details, ensuring the photos remained true to their raw, urban aesthetic. Influences from photographers like Elys Berroteran and Fausto Elizalde can be seen in the use of unexpected locations and unconventional poses.
