Q: Who would you say would be the artist(s) that have had a lasting impact on you?
A: It is hard to say. It seems to me that each person is as individual as possible in their creativity and general vision of the world. I don’t think that there’s an artist from whom I would take an example or who would seriously inspire me. Probably, I am a living example of how to embody ideas from the head on the canvas. When I look at someone’s work, on a subconscious level I already understand that my brain will want to do something similar, and I want to create something unique, so I try not to be too much inspired by others.
Q: Favorite Art medium?
A: I was learning how to draw in art school, then in high school, and everything I was taught there was quite boring. It wasn’t really impressive to draw vases of flowers or some man passing by, you know. I always wanted to create something of my own, so I tried many different materials and techniques. I really like to paint with gouache because you can always make another layer, cover the previous one and not be scared that you will make a mistake.
Q: If you had to pick a favorite fashion brand, which brand would you pick?
A: Definitely Balmain. After Olivier Rousteing became their creative director, their fashion became really outstanding. The subtlety of model selection for their shows also worth mentioning, they all look world-class. Also, I really like that Balmain uses social networks as a way to popularize themselves and do collaborations with famous models and bloggers.
Q: When you are painting, is there something you do at the same time to keep you motivated and focused?
A: Absolutely. I am a very positive and hyperactive person. You know, I hate silence cause it makes me bored and I get absolutely no motivation in it. So, when I draw, I always listen to upbeat music. Sometimes I even accidentally stain myself with paint because I sing along and dance while drawing.
Q: How has social media affected your life and would you say that it was a more positive experience than a negative?
A: In my opinion, social networks are the coolest thing that humanity could come up with. Thanks to them, you can become a little closer to your favorite celebrities, as well as find new friends with the same interests. Or even find the love of your life. Also, for me, social media is a motivation to become better each and every day (both mentally and physically). Everyone wants to watch and read about an interesting person, that’s how you become an opinion leader.
