Last night, in the heart of Paris’s Marais, GUNTHER quietly opened its first boutique. No speeches. No big statements. Just textures, people, and clear sense of intention.
Naomi Gunther — the founder and designer — greeted guests herself.
Calm, focused, and very much in her element.
‘We didn’t just want a store,’ she told us. ‘We needed a space where people can see and feel our fabrics. That’s how our clothes speak.’
The brand had previously done pop-ups — in Paris, London, and across Asia – but this was something more permanent.
‘We want to create experiences here,’ Naomi explained. ‘Not just selling clothes, but maybe hosting workshops, masterclasses. Something beyond fashion.‘
And it feels like that. The boutique looks more like a living room than a shop. Vintage furniture – a 19th-century hanger, chairs from a 1950s luxury cruise – mixes with clean. Modern pieces.
‘I grew up with concept stores,’ she says. ‘I feel like Paris is missing that now. I wanted a space that feels real.’
On the racks, there are three collections.
The summer line, inspired by Death on the Nile – soft desert tones, touches of green, and flowing fabrics.
‘It’s about heat, air, texture. A kind of Egyptian summer.‘
A preview of the winter collection, rooted in the British countryside – heavier, more structured pieces.
And Essentials – the permanent wardrobe.
‘These are the key shapes and fabrics of the brand,‘ Naomi says. ‘Always available. Less fashion, more timeless.’
As for her creative influences:
‘We take inspiration from travel – in time and in space. I love the 1920s, the 1960s … eras where people dressed with care. I love that vibe.‘
And you can feel it — not just in the clothes, but in the way Naomi talks about her work: slow, human, exact.
GUNTHER doesn’t shout. But it speaks – clearly.
And now, it has an address.
10 rue de Picardie.
75003 Paris
