Balenciaga has created a new kit for Stade Rennais F.C., marking a statement in defense of the LGBTQ+ community. The fashion house has made its debut as the official outfitter of a Ligue 1 team, designing the new kit for Stade Rennais F.C. Consistent with their commitment to combating hate towards the LGBTQ+ community, Balenciaga drew inspiration from the colors of the Pride flag, with the brand’s logo placed above each player’s name and number.
The Stade Rennais team sported the new uniform at Roazhon Park as part of a broader campaign by the French Football League. Balenciaga shared the shirt design on its Instagram stories with the hashtags #STOPHOMOPHOBIA, #STOPTRANSPHOBIA, and #STOPBIPHOBIA.
