For the SS5 season, MSGM collaborates with Luke Edward Hall, bringing his signature colorful, dreamlike illustrations to the collection.
This season, MSGM dives into the world of the sea, memory, and nostalgia, building an imaginary coastal city made of sunlight, sails, and salt air. Hall’s universe of romantic sailors, dreamy faces, and mythological creatures fits seamlessly into this vision, amplifying its poetic dimension.
His illustrations are fluid, expressive, and tinged with longing-echo the emotional undercurrent of the collection: a sense of carefree youth, fleeting summer love, and the magic of seaside days. Printed across oversized shirts and soft knits.
Luke Edward Hall is a British artist and designer known for his unique blend of historical references and whimsical fantasy. Born in Hampshire in 1989, he trained in menswear design at Central Saint Martins, but it’s his distinctive approach to illustration that has earned him widespread recognition.
Hall’s work often features dreamlike scenes, with recurring motifs like sailors, mythical creatures, and faces.
His artistic practice is deeply personal, influenced by his love of classical art, architecture, and the English countryside, where he creates from his studio in an Oxfordshire farm barn. This creative space, full of charm and inspiration, perfectly mirrors his work: imaginative and nostalgic.
The collaboration becomes a dialogue between Massimo Giorgetti’s vision of an abstract Mediterranean dream and Hall’s distinctive storytelling, resulting in a collection that feels both rooted in tradition and delightfully surreal.
