Rooted in the philosophy of WANSIE – an ethos of exceptional workwear for the everyday
– this collection takes its inspiration from Buckminster Fuller’s revolutionary concept of
the Trimtab. A trimtab, the small rudder on a ship, demonstrates how even the smallest
action, executed with intent and precision, can steer monumental change. Fuller saw it as
a metaphor for humanity: that purposeful, deliberate effort could guide the course of the
world.
This vision gave rise to Dymaxion—a term blending Dynamic, Maximum, and Tension—
symbolizing the principle of achieving the greatest impact with the least resources.
Fuller’s Dymaxion Map, created in 1954, flattened Earth’s spherical surface into a unified plane, reimagining the relationships between continents and oceans while rejecting conventional, culturally biased perspectives like “north” and “south”.
Inspired by Fuller’s transformative worldview and his belief in the power of small, decisive
actions, our designs embody the spirit of Trimtab and Dymaxion. This collection serves as a tribute to his enduring legacy and is guided by the words etched on his gravestone:
Call me TRIMTUB. These words, like this collection, stand as a call to action—a
reminder of the profound impact of even the smallest gesture.
