This Summer, Salomon reimagines the XT-Whisper Void with British singer-songwriter, Ama. What began as a brand endorsement during her tour has evolved into a full-fledged creative partnership. From media editorials and campaign features to center-stage moments, Ama has become a true embodiment of Salomon’s spirit. Now, the journey reaches a new milestone with the launch of her own signature Salomon shoe; the XT-Whisper Void Ama, in partnership with her creative agency, I Came Home Late Studios. Inspired by storytelling, the XT-Whisper Void combines Ama’s artistic persona with Salomon’s legacy of adventure. Created for women but worn by all, this updated trail racing silhouette has been redesigned to celebrate individual empowerment and self-expression.
The XT-WHISPER VOID AMA has been reborn in a new light with ethereal colors, sleek and flowing lines, and new textures for a visually striking effect. With a racing pedigree, this protective shoe brings confidence and comfort through Sensifi™ and Quicklace precision fit, along with an Agile Chassis system that provides stability, support and grip.
Shot in elemental environments, the campaign reflects Ama’s vision for the shoe, which began with the sea and the strength of Japanese Ama divers; women who have descended into the ocean for centuries harvesting pearls—unaided, unafraid. Their name—“Ama”— is not a coincidence, but an alignment, exuding courage, resilience, and grace under pressure. Each colour in the design is connected to a deeper meaning; pearl white for the treasure sought in silence, coral orange for a flash of life—vivid, raw, and the same shade that warms the gloves of the divers and seaweed green, from the swaying undercurrents from plant life rooted in constant motion.
“Number one (reason to wear Salomon) is functionality, at the end of the day it doesn’t matter if you’re a fashion girl, there’s nothing more annoying than having shoes that don’t feel good. They’re also subdued in terms of branding so can go with everything. If I’m on a small trip I’ll take one pair of Salomon and I know I can go for a hike in the woods or wear them to dinner without anyone looking at me crazy. They’re really easily transposable across lots of different outfits but also understated and chic.” – Ama
