NEW FACES Jesus by Diego Bigolin

This portrait series was born from a simple yet powerful idea: to explore intimacy through the lens of trust. Rather than forcing poses or staging emotions, the project sought to create a space where innocence, confidence, and complicity could naturally unfold. What emerged was not just a collection of images, but a quiet dialogue between photographer and subject—one that revealed emotional openness in its purest form.

The initiative began almost spontaneously, during conversations between the photographer, the model, and the agency. There was a shared desire to create something that resonated beyond the surface, both emotionally and visually. The chosen location played a vital role, offering the freedom to work fluidly, without constraints or expectations. It was a space that invited authenticity, where the process could evolve organically rather than being imposed from the outside.

Aesthetically, the project gravitates toward a melancholic and honest mood. The imagery avoids spectacle, steering clear of exaggerated dramatization, and instead focuses on subtlety: a fleeting gesture, a small expression, the quiet weight of presence. The use of soft lighting and muted tones contributes to this subdued atmosphere, while calm and thoughtful framing ensures that nothing interrupts the intimacy unfolding in front of the camera.

Collaboration with the model was central to this vision. From the outset, the working dynamic was professional, but also warm and open. The aim was to create an environment where he could move freely, without the pressure of strict direction. Rather than controlling every detail, the photographer’s role became one of gentle guidance, sustaining the emotional tone without breaking its natural flow. The result is a series that feels lived-in rather than orchestrated—images that capture the subject inhabiting the space authentically, with sincerity and presence.

Ultimately, this series is a study of trust, vulnerability, and the fragile strength of human connection. It reminds us that photography is not just about capturing what is seen, but also about creating conditions for what is felt. By prioritizing respect and authenticity, the work allows us to glimpse those rare, fleeting moments where intimacy reveals itself in its most genuine form.
