MOSCHINO has recently announced the appointment of Buenos Aires-born Adrian Appiolaza as its new Creative Director. In his new role, Appiolaza will oversee the brand’s women’s, men’s, and accessories collections, reporting to Massimo Ferretti, the Executive Chairman of parent company Aeffe SpA. Appiolaza, who previously served as the Director of Women’s Ready-to-Wear at LOEWE, had a longstanding collaboration with Creative Director JW Anderson. His first women’s collection for MOSCHINO is set to debut at Milan Fashion Week on February 22, at 6 PM Central European Time.
Adrian Appiolaza is an alumnus of Central Saint Martins, where he also worked as a junior designer for Alexander McQueen and Miguel Adrover. In 2002, he joined Chloé after his graduation collection caught the eye of Phoebe Philo. He moved to Miu Miu in 2006 and later joined LOUIS VUITTON in 2010 as a senior designer under Marc Jacobs. Returning to Chloé in 2012, he co-led the design direction with Clare Waight Keller until 2014, after which he joined LOEWE.
