I’ve always loved introverted people, probably because I’m one too.
Introversion is a typological orientation of the personality characterized by a rich emotional complement which, involving a predominantly intuitive and empathetic relationship with reality, forces the subject to question himself, in a more or less intellectually organized manner, on the complexity that lies behind appearances.
It is a parent of confidentiality, a quality that is ruthlessly needed in the Reel society.
During our conversation, Francesco Luciani conveyed conscious introversion to me.
His one is a world to be explored, to be discovered, granted to a few, to those who show genuine interest.
24 years old, Milanese, actor: Francesco is among the revelations of the last season of Mare Fuori (The Sea Beyond).
In the cult series produced by RAI Fiction, Francesco plays Samuele, a tormented boy who finds his dimension in torment itself.
Samuele is a character who contrasts Francesco’s calm and introspective personality but both are unite in the intimate search of the self.

What’s the best thing about your hometown/country?
In Milan every street is a different culture, you find people from all over the world. I think this is my favorite thing about my city
What’s the best thing about you:
I have yet to discover my best feature.
How discovered:
In kindergarten, I played “a gentleman” who went into a bar, drank a coffee and left. I remember I had a blue sweatshirt
That’s fun!
What do you do before going on set?
Before going in front of the camera I stay alone, I smoke, I listen to a lot of music.
But maybe I don’t even know exactly what I do or what happens. While I’m there and immediately after the stop is given I don’t know what happens, I think that’s the magic.
What does art represent for you?
Art is representation and suggestion.
Cinema or art?
Why isn’t cinema art?
Who is Samuele, the character you’re starring in Mare Fuori?
Samuele is a tormented person, it doesn’t matter what, but he cannot and does not want to find peace.
What are you listening to at the moment?
I beat by J Dilla and Tanto pe’ cantà by Nino Manfredi
Favorite movie/TV show:
La Haine by Mathieu Kassovitz and The Big Lebowski by Coen Brothers
Favorite designer, fragrance or beauty product:
Unfortunately it’s not my area, I know very little.
I’m certainly fascinated by sweatshirts with Basquiat prints. Inspired by him,
I often customize sweatshirts, trousers or items that I no longer wear.
Currently, you’re obsessed with/about:
Negatively speaking these days I’m obsessed with my phone, it’s an ugly beast. I should disconnect for a while, maybe this summer. While everyone is busy showing how beautiful the sea is, I’m going to really look at it.
Positively however, I am obsessed with the videos of two interviews with Vittorio Gassman and Carmelo Bene.
Two geniuses. I’ve watched those videos so much that I know them by heart, but every time I see them in front of me there’s always something new.
I know those feelings.
Place you would love to visit:
All the Africa
Last but not least, if you were an animal, which one would you be?
With Mare Fuori I worked on the snake concept, in this period I feel as I am, silent and shy. .. And like sanse, contact with humans is tight for me at the moment.
