Q) You recently moved to LA to pursue your dreams! Do you find that the added stress of the pandemic has made things more difficult for you and has there been anything that has helped keep you grounded during all the stressful times?
A) I think I moved to LA at the perfect time. Although this pandemic has been quite unfortunate at times, I feel like it has made us really appreciate time. Time is the only thing you cannot buy, but the pandemic has allowed us to save some of it. My close friends, family, and team keep me grounded. Patience is key in the entertainment industry, so I’ve been focusing on perfecting my craft anyway I can. You have to stay ready so you don’t have to get ready.
Q) Has moving to LA been a major adjustment for you or are you finding that you are easily transitioning into your newfound home?
A) To be honest, the transition from Houston, Texas to Los Angeles, California has been quite interesting. It’s all very new to me. I live right in Hollywood, so it all feels like a movie. I just hope there’s a happy ending! I just want to take things day by day. At times I’m scared, other times I’m hopeful, but I’m here and I am not going anywhere.
Q) There are so many things that can surface to cause you to get sidetracked from your dreams or goals. What advice would you give to someone who was fearful of taking that first step, because everything was seemingly working against them at the moment?
A) Stay focused. That’s what my manager always tells me. It’s very easy to get distracted in LA. My advice would be to go for it. Keep fighting. What’s the worst that can happen? Actually, don’t answer that haha.
Q) Who is currently in your playlist, keeping you motivated when you need that boost of inspiration?
A) Harry Styles, Gus Dapperton, Pink Floyd, castlebeat, Floorcry, The 1975.
Q) Have you noticed a very drastic change in how people interact with each other since the unfortunate times that we have been living through this year? Do you feel a sense of optimism still within even if it’s hard to find or are you a bit worried?
A) Absolutely. Better days are coming! I’ve been doing a lot of FaceTime & Zoom interactions lately! It’s weird not having in person meetings. Adjusting is part of life. I can’t wait for things to get back to normal again, but then again, is this the new norm?
Q) Do you feel like LA is more for your professional life or somewhere you could really see yourself loving personally?
A) I feel like the first goal is to move to LA & the second goal is to become so successful you only have to come to LA, for work.
