Game to serve as a prequel to “Blade Runner 2049”
Amazon Studios Expands Blade Runner Universe
In addition to the live-action series adaptation of the classic sci-fi film “Blade Runner” currently being produced by Amazon Studios, the release of the game adaptation “Blade Runner 2033: Labyrinth”, set in the same cinematic universe, has recently been confirmed.
Return to Future Los Angeles in “Blade Runner 2033: Labyrinth”
“Blade Runner 2033: Labyrinth” marks the release of a new “Blade Runner” video game after 25 years. The game is being developed by Annapurna Interactive, known for “Stray”, and will be directed by game director Chelsea Hash.
As the game’s title suggests, this work will serve as a prequel to “Blade Runner 2049”. The plot will focus on Los Angeles after the blackout of “Blade Runner Black Out 2022”, telling the story of a Blade Runner in a world where there are no more replicants to hunt, prompting the question: where will they go next?
