This collaborative collection, from Y-3 and the Japanese brand, NEIGHBORHOOD, tells a pioneering story of rebellion.
With NEIGHBORHOOD’s adoration for motorcycle subcultures in America and Japan, their partnership with Y-3 has channeled the codes of moto to tell a story of how culture adopts the iconography of sport. Uniting across borders at the intersection of Japanese streetwear, motorcycling culture, and sportswear, they have also enlisted Wales-based David Gwyther, a.k.a Death Spray Custom, Tokyo-based Cherryscompany, and the Italian racing company Dainese in order to bring the project to life.
Continuing the authentic cultural exchange, the collection is brought to life through a campaign shot by Takay, featuring a custom motorcycle, assembled by Cherryscompany. With each image, the striking black and white photography captures the rebellious energy at the heart of the collection.
