Sethu‘s new EP, in fiore, produced by the inseparable Jiz for Carosello Records, was released on Friday, November 21st, on the exact day of the twins’ birthdays. After a difficult period, chronicled in his latest album, Tutti i colori del buio, Sethu is experiencing a new personal and artistic blossoming, achieved thanks to his inseparable artistic and personal bond with his brother Jiz: in fiore is their treehouse, a happy place amidst the urban chaos. It’s a refuge, but also a starting point for a more conscious and mature journey, which also features his longtime colleague and friend Sayf, the only guest on the EP.
“In fiore is the first part of a journey that began a year ago and is a preview of what’s to come next year. The EP represents rebirth, spring after winter, and, above all, the search for my happy place: making music with my brother. It’s about the highs after the lows, the lows after the highs; or simply of life, of dreams and reality. I would call it the first brick of our treehouse“, this is how Sethu describes the EP.
With his new EP in fiore, Sethu is eager to rediscover a renewed creative drive and a different artistic identity than his previous career. In the Italian music scene,
Sethu and Jiz are a true rarity: two souls who write, produce, and build everything as a family.
Over the past few years, the twins have garnered significant recognition and enjoyed personal and professional experiences, always in the name of brotherhood: on one side, Sethu — one of the most authentic and visceral writers of the Ligurian underground — who graced the stage at Sanremo in 2023 with his song Cause Perse, opened concerts for major urban and pop names like Sfera Ebbasta, Pinguini Tattici Nucleari, and Chiello, and composed the music for the Italian version of an expansion for the video game giant Genshin Impact; on the other, Jiz, who has quickly become one of the leading producers of the new urban-pop scene, collaborating with artists such as Tedua and Bresh.
The EP collects the singles released in previous months— si balla, fino all’osso, Marco, and astrologia — along with a feature featuring Sayf (Come ti pare) and three other unreleased tracks that Sethu has been teasing on social media in recent weeks.
On Thursday, November 27th, Spaghetti Unplugged will take place at the Apollo in Milan, where Sethu will perform the EP live for the first time.
