A short preview of the Pre-Spring 2021 Louis Vuitton collection designed by Virgil Abloh has been revealed by the brand before it is fully shown on the digital Paris Fashion Week. Its main theme is Abloh’s interpretations of nuance, meant to represent “the core values of diversity, unity and inclusion.”
As it couldn’t be otherwise with Abloh, this collection combines the aesthetic of luxury and high-end fashion with streetwear and every day wear described as the “re-appropriation of elitist codes into symbols of inclusivity” in the collection notes. The images revealed a green leather jacket, a mink jacket, loose-fitting pants, sneakers, and a pair of bucket hats.
“We’re in a streetwear era, but I’m not satisfied with categories that are popular. I want to make a wardrobe. To me, that’s doing justice to the history and craftsmanship and savoir-faire of Vuitton.”
Virgil Abloh
Other items that have not been seen yet include tailoring pieces inspired by workwear and pajamas, graphic t-shirts and regarding footwear it seems like LV is introducing a new sneaker silhouette with a semi-transparent and shock-absorbent sole. The Spring-Summer collection will be released in a digital presentation on July 10.
