Louis Vuitton has introduced a new high jewelry collection, “Les Gastons Vuitton,” paying homage to one of its most influential figures, Gaston-Louis Vuitton. The grandson of the brand’s founder, Gaston-Louis was not only a creator and collector but also a curious and inventive mind. His diverse interests spanned from fonts and monograms to books, art, travel, trunks, and even games and toys, each marked by his flair for invention and keen design sense.
“Les Gastons Vuitton” is a celebration of his multifaceted personality and enduring legacy. It represents a leap in innovation, both in terms of techniques and materials used, as well as in the movement mechanisms, mirroring Gaston-Louis’s modernity and sense of freedom. Francesca Amfitheatrof, Louis Vuitton’s Artistic Director of Jewelry and Watchmaking, envisioned the collection to resonate with contemporary men who share Gaston-Louis’s sensitivity and openness to the world.
The collection comprises 16 pieces and 2 masterpieces, segmented into three distinct chapters: The Creators, The Collectors, and The Explorers. Each chapter delves into a different facet of Gaston-Louis’s life and interests, while seamlessly incorporating the House’s iconic signatures: the Monogram and the trunk. This collection is a tribute to creativity and exploration, embodying the spirit of Louis Vuitton through the lens of one of its most pivotal figures.
