Liberal Youth Ministry is here to stay. As they say in their manifesto they are “creating truth about clothes”, and people are loving it.
Recently, we had a conversation with Antonio Zaragoza, the young fashion designer who is introducing us to this Liberal Youth Ministry.
Among his latest collaborations, we can mention the ANGEL ENERGY outfit wore by Bad Bunny during his performance at the 19th Latin Grammy Awards last November.
Nevertheless, what we love the most about LYM is the sense of freedom and youth this brand is showing with every fashion piece.
Check it out!
Q: 2020 is over; how do you embrace 2021? Any words about last year?
2020 is the past, I like to think about the present and 2021 is here. I will embrace it with freedom.

Q: Let us talk about Liberal Youth Ministry; from the name to the final fashion pieces, there is a special aura of transgression in every creation, in every collection; but how would you define Liberal Youth Ministry?
On the name I wanted something that sounded like a youth political group, that’s all. I’m very interested in reading your reaction to the clothing by saying it is transgressive, It is hard to define LYM as one thing because it is changing all the time, I guess the constant concepts are rebellion, freedom, and ecstasy.

Q: Do you consider yourself an insurgent fashionista? What is the message of rebellion Liberal Youth Ministry is spreading out?
I just like to put messages into clothes, messages about freedom, and youth.

Q: What are your thoughts about representation and body positivity in current fashion?
It is in evolution.

Q: For me, getting dressed is like listening to a playlist: you become what you listen to and what is on your playlist changes your attitude and mood. What should anyone expect while wearing any fashion piece of Liberal Youth Ministry?
Freedom and energy.

Q: Is there a secret to making local beauty a global trend?
I don’t really believe in global trends.
Q: Having a place in the fashion industry is not a lucky break; people have to work hard and stay trendy yet significant. What is your story?
I don’t really think about the concepts of staying trendy or significant, LYM is the result of hard work and constant evolution.

Q: What comes to your mind when I say México?
Home.

Q: Which advice would you give to those teenagers who are thinking about starting a career in arts and fashion?
Make new things, and keep moving all the time.

Before we go
The aura of transgression I perceive from Liberal Youth Ministry comes from the strong sense of being free and speak out your mind so distinctive in youth. Its aesthetic is luring, and its outfits represent the self-determination and independence we all look for.
Remember Antonio Zaragoza’s message and release your creativity with no restrictions.
