Recently, KITH Tokyo, situated in the renowned indigo-producing region of Tokushima, Japan, has forged its inaugural collaboration with BUAISOU, a skilled dyer dedicated to indigo dyeing, design, and production. The result is the launch of an all-new limited edition series.
This collaboration places a spotlight on BUAISOU’s iconic blue, utilizing only natural indigo and alkaline liquid derived from ash, bran, and seashell ash. The indigo liquid, meticulously managed by craftsmen throughout the 365-day fermentation process, unveils profound, beautiful hues with exceptional colorfastness. The collaboration has yielded three distinct pieces: the Aizome Retro T-Shirt, Aizome Retro LS T-Shirt, and Aizome Williams III Hoodie. Adorned with shibori tie-dye and mesh patterns, each piece carries symbolic meanings of good luck and warding off evil.
