The Parisian fashion house Jacquemus ventures into the world of interior design with its first collection “Objets,” paying tribute to the iconic Italian architect Gae Aulenti. Following a successful collaboration with Tekla, the Danish bedding brand, in 2022, Jacquemus continues to expand its horizons in this new sector.

Inspired by design, architecture, and art, Simon Porte Jacquemus has always used these sources for his creations. Five years ago, he presented “La Collectionneuse” for the Fall-Winter 2019-2020 season, a prêt-à-porter collection inspired by artistic references ranging from the modernist chairs of Pierre Jeanneret to the architecture of Gae Aulenti, known for her work on museum interiors such as the Musée d’Orsay and the Palazzo Grassi in Venice.
In collaboration with Exteta, the renowned Italian luxury furniture manufacturer, Jacquemus reinvents Gae Aulenti’s “Locus Solus” models created in 1964. The capsule collection includes a chair, an armchair, and a chaise longue with Jacquemus’ signature touch, using a yellow-striped fabric inspired by 1980s beach mats and umbrellas. The limited collection is available at the Avenue Montaigne boutique and on the brand’s website, with prices ranging from 1,188 euros for the chair, 3,456 euros for the armchair, and 5,940 euros for the chaise longue.
“Objets” also complements the Raphia prêt-à-porter collection, set to launch in December 2022, with around fifteen accessories and design objects, such as trays, plates, vases, bowls, keychains, baskets, and more. Most of these objects are made of leather and crafted in Italy, following the tradition of luxury houses. Additionally, gold-plated brass hairpins and leather clothespins are included, in line with the playful spirit of Jacquemus. Prices range from 150 to 400 euros.
The collection is completed by a series of vintage art books and rare catalogs that Simon Porte Jacquemus has handpicked from his favorite artists, such as Pablo Picasso, David Hockney, and Jean Dubuffet, as well as some original prints by photographer Lucien Clergue. An unusual, eclectic, and avant-garde offering, true to the Jacquemus brand’s style.
