Arca will turn up the heat again this summer with its remix of Lady Gaga (I.G. @ladygaga) and Ariana Grande‘s (I.G. @arianagrande) “Rain on Me”. The Venezuelan producer has thus artistically altered one of the most acclaimed works from Lady Gaga’s Chromatica album. And it already has a release date: August 20.
Via Discord, Arca put an end to rumors by confirming her experimental foray into the Chromatica remix album. “The ‘Rain on Me’ remix which samples my songs Time and Mequetrefe also includes a sample by my favorite Changa Tuki aka raptor house producer dj yirvin, an iconic song called Mételo Sácalo”. The hype just got a little higher with the following words: “’Rain On Me’ remix is soooo good. Y’all are gonna gag.”
So Let’s put on the (mixing) table what we know so far about the Arca x Lady Gaga’s creative union. It will include two songs from her fourth album KicK i, and will drink directly from Changa Tuki: a lifestyle, dance and music genre derived from 90’s Caracas electronic music. All those references will collide through digital sampling in the track that originally reached the top of the US Billboard Hot 100.

Gaga’s sixth studio “Chromatica” album thus rose to the musical peak, ranking in the top ten in more than 50 territories. But it now returns in a new state-of-the-art remastered format through the intervention of a cast of artists who will update (and elevate) its sonic language. From producer Bloodpop, to singers like Rina Sawayama, Grimes, Charli XCX, Bree Runway or Dorian Electra. If we merge all their universes with Arca’s future electronics, we can already see the emotions and the success sprouting. And we’re here to feel everything.
