Often, we have discussed the topic of “top-models” and “supermodels” and you know that it is one of my favorite discussion ones.
Supermodels of the 90s represent a moment, the climax that fueled my passion for fashion.
I remember that as a kid I collected old clippings from magazines kept by my grandmother (which I systematically destroyed) in which my favorite names appeared in advertising campaigns, catwalks, cover stories.
Among the most loved images was that of Helena Christensen taken in 1991 by the American photographer Herb Ritts.
Over thirty years have passed since that photo and at least twenty since I cut it out of the pages of Vogue UK and today I have the pleasure of introducing you to the protagonist of the first digital cover of 2025, Mingus Reedus who is Helena Christensen’s son – among other things.
Mingus Lucien Reedus (this is his full name) is 25 years old, born in Copenhagen but raised in New York, independent spirit and, obviously, a talented model.
His first experience was for Calvin Klein, after being discovered at 16 at a festival.
The success was immediate.: our boy has the face and the charisma.
So many brands have wanted him over the years: Louis Vuitton, Versace, Thom Browne, Tommy Hilfiger, Alexander Wang, Victoria Sectet’s (to name a few).
Numerous magazines as well immortalized him in their pages: Vogue Hommes, 10 Men Magazine, ODDA Magazine, Rein Magazine.
Fashion but also and mainly music in life of Mingus who has been producing his own for some time now.
We met him in New York on the set of our cover story and that’s what he told us.

Copenhagen, but grew up in New York City
What’s the best thing about your hometown/country?
Copenhagen is the most child friendly place on earth. I can’t wait to one day bike around the danish canal with my kids in the sidecar.
How discovered:
Originally, I have been scouted at a music festival and asked if I had ever considered modeling. I was 16 and very flattered, but then Cesar Perin from Unsigned Group secured my debut show, an exclusive Calvin Klein in NYC.
What was your first modeling job?
My first modeling gig was a runway for Calvin Klein. I was terrified but ended up having a great time. Very thankful for everything.
What were you doing before modeling?
Before modeling, I was a student obsessed with film. I had some boring day jobs that beat the life out of me but mostly I was doing homework.
What would you be doing if you weren’t modeling?
If I wasn’t modeling, I’d like to think that I would have released more music by now. That’s truly where my heart is at. Producing music and singing is what I see myself doing forever.
Favorite modeling experience so far:
The Versace show was a very special experience for me. I flew to Milan just to be a part of the runway, met amazing people and even got some alone time walking around the neighborhoods trying to find the best cannoli spot.
Favorite things you like doing in your spare time:
I’ve recently become obsessed with jogging. I hope I end up being in my 60’s and 70’s still running up and down the west side highway with my shirt off. Other than running, I’m usually locked in my room making music with my phone on Do not Disturb.
What are you listening to at the moment?
I’ve been bumping 2hollis. Love when someone brings something new to the table and bro is absolutely talented.
Other than him, my playlist is full of Eyedress, Bladee, The Cure, and my boy The Bird.
