On the occasion of the Milan Men’s Fashion Week, MTLstudio introduced”SAGRA DI PAESE”, its SS26 collection.
The official debut of the brand in the calendar of the National Chamber of Italian Fashion is an ode to the childhood memories of the founder and creative director, Matteo Lamandini. The collection transports the essence of provincial life in Emilia-Romagna to the city, reinventing the canons of the traditional village festival with irony and modernity.
At the heart of “SAGRA DI PAESE” there is a strong social message and a deep connection with the designer’s origins which celebrate inclusiveness. The presentation breaks with the classic patterns: the protagonists are ordinary people of different physiques and ages, models who interact in scenes of everyday life such as playing cards or bowls while tasting and offering crescentine.
The collection plays with contrasts to offer a contemporary take on the men’s work wardrobe. Tailored wools are applied to unusual garments. Tie-dye in different shades and faded, ruined and stained denim evoke the past, while sharp cuts on wool, denim and poplin accentuate wear and the passage of time.
Crochet is a key element, present in the setting, in the garments and in distinctive accessories such as purses and purses. The oversized outerwear, inspired by grandfather’s wardrobe, is the highlight, offered both in the full version and in the separate version with damaged denim.
Finally, transparencies and overlays further enrich the looks. The color palette is characterized by predominantly soft tones: beige and pastel blue, flanked by black and white. Pink, the designer’s stylistic signature, appears in every collection to represent the feminine side of the creation, wearable by anyone regardless of gender, to strengthen and validate the inclusiveness of the collection.
