Photographers Rona Bar @ronabarphotos and Ofek Avshalom @ofekavshalom, professionally known together as Fotometro Art @fotometro.art, present Milly In Her Room, a beautiful fashion editorial exclusively created for Vanity Teen online with the model Milly Cope @millycope.
In this series, the team was inspired by a character, a London-based artist, designer, and photographer, and her clothes. “We shot this editorial in her apartment in London,” say the photographers. “Milly designed and made the clothes by herself as well as all the drawings.”
“When we saw her place we were immediately inspired by the children’s book “Where the wild things are”, her being in her environment really reminded us of the children’s book, and we tried to integrate that fantasy vibe and surreal atmosphere in the shooting.”
The shooting turned out better than the team imagined. Milly looks so authentic, bold, and youthful, and it tells her story in the most beautiful way.
As the team was actually traveling through the UK as they are based in Tel Aviv, Israel, they didn’t carry much equipment. They used a Canon 5d Mark IV with 50mm f1.2 and 35mm f1.4 lenses, as well as their 120mm film camera, Pentax 6×7, and a 35mm film camera, Nikormat, and it took place at Milly’s apartment in London, UK.
The model, Milly, is wearing her own stylized wardrobe, with her self-made wool clothes that she’s designed and made by herself.
“In the last two years we’ve been working on an ongoing project documenting couples in their homes, so we did so many sessions at people’s homes using natural light only. The style we used in the series with Milly was inspired by the style we adopted for ourselves in our recent projects. Also in our personal project, we always focus on casting, finding characters that reflect our vision and statement, in this case, it’s Milly.”
