Saloni is a Fashion, Lifestyle and Beauty Photographer based in New York City. An engineer by education and an artist by passion, Saloni likes to bring fashion, colors and postures together with laws of physics and light to capture stunning images for her clients. Her editorials have been published in several international fashion magazines including L’Officiel, Nylon, Spirit & Flesh, Ellements, Vulkan, Scorpio Jin and Trend Prive.
Saloni was born in India and grew up in a colorful and diverse city of Delhi. Besides her strong inclination for mathematics, Saloni has always been fascinated by the field of arts. Growing up in a family of visual artists, Saloni learned the theory of colors and composition from her mother, helping her finish her oil paintings on canvass and 3D objects. To pursue diverse interests, Saloni turned down the opportunity to study at India’s biggest dance schools early on and went on to learn music and singing in her school-days. She attained Grade 1 and Grade 3 certificates from Rock school of Music (affiliated with Trinity College London), and performed at various concerts at a singer and guitarist. After moving to New York, true to her engineering roots, Saloni went on to earn a Master’s in Computer Science from New York University and worked at Goldman Sachs, PwC and WebMD in various corporate and engineering roles (built iOS applications from the ground up!) for few years.
Infatuated by the creative NYC vibe and a yearning to produce visually compelling art, Saloni then pivoted to learning photography and retouching at School of Visual Arts (SVA), and International Center of Photography (ICP), two of the world’s leading institutions for Photography. Since then, Saloni has been working with a talented team of models, stylists, make-up artists and designers to produce high-fashion editorials. Commercially, she continues to work with both large and boutique customers on their creative campaigns.
