The Italian luxury brand recently launched a new collection called “off the grid” which is made with eco-friendly materials from recycled materials to biomaterials and organic.
Some of this collection’s items are created with ECONYL, a sustainable material made by sorting and cleaning waste materials to find the product’s original nylon fibers, which is then regenerated to produce material very similar to virgin nylon. From there, a textile yarn is produced, which is then spun into producing a new product. This new textile is used by Gucci in a short range of colors: orange, yellow and black.
“Designed for those mindful of their environmental impact, Gucci Off The Grid uses recycled, organic, bio-based and sustainably sourced materials.“Gucci’s website
Some of the products in this collection include baseball caps, bucket hats, two sets of matching track jackets and pants, wallets, sneakers and bags. And of course, every product has the brand’s monogram pattern printed on the ECONYL, finished with elasticated cuffs, silver-toned metal hardware and zips.
The bucket hats retail for $530 USD, and the baseball caps cost $430 USD whilst the jacket retails for $1,700 USD and the pants retail for $1,100 USD. You can buy now the collection on Gucci’s website.
