The Italian luxury house unveils its latest Cosmogonie Cruise 2023 campaign, showcasing designs curated by Alessandro Michele. After the departure of Alessandro Michele as creative director, the fashion house continues to showcase its future campaigns and collections. For this campaign, art director Christopher Simmonds works alongside photographers Mert and Marcus to bring the collection to life.

The campaign images implement Flemish Renaissance portrayal, showcasing an array of scholars, painters, philosophers, and poets and illuminating countless stories woven together within the collection. Acting as the campaign’s visuals are models Adedayo Atiba, Joep, Joel Lumbroso, and David Ge.
The collection incorporates a range of attire, including tweed pants, and an assortment of wool and fur coats. Most notably, the designs implemented in the collection are 16th-century ruffle-embellished shirts, silhouettes, and visual patterns from the 1940s and 1970s. With this campaign, the new Aphrodite shoulder bag was unveiled, with varying sizes and colours available.

The Gucci Cosmogonie collection was presented against the backdrop of the historic Castel del Monte in Italy. The show brought together aesthetics from distant eras and geographies, and linked elements form the past with the present. This new small crescent-shaped shoulder bag was inspired by the House’s archives, it is crafted in soft leather and features the Double G emblem—a code originally introduced in the 1970s. Embodying the notion of the versatility, the bag is enriched with two shoulder straps, one is crafted in leather and the other is in Gucci’s recognizable gold-toned chain design.
