Alessandro Michele, Gucci @gucci ‘s Creative Director, presents the Gucci ARIA collection to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Maison. This time he collaborated with Demna Gvasalia, Creative Director of Balenciaga, to create a stunning collection that marks the best collaboration between two of the most important luxury fashion houses.
“A deep and ecstatic diving in everything we yearningly miss today, a jubilee of breath.”
The collection takes inspiration from some of the most legendary and classic Gucci designs, as it is seen that Michele brings back Gucci’s iconic equestrian codes with a slight reinterpretation to improve the amazing pieces. He also brought one of Tom Ford’s greatest hits, the red velvet tuxedo from fall 1996.
Michele combined some of Balenciaga’s iconic symbols and shapes with the iconic Gucci’s identity and Michele’s view of fashion to create the ultimate expressions of reverence and homage.
“Young people look at the brand as a platform, a place. They visualize Gucci a million different ways, a million different times. It’s a playground that we can share all together.”
said Michele.
