We review the must-see looks from the Emmy Awards, a glamorous evening.
As we slowly return to in-person ceremonies and the much missed red carpets, the 73rd Primetime Emmy Awards were a true celebration of the entertainment that offered us comfort and company during the pandemic.
Join us to see the best dressed stars in the red carpet:
I May Destroy You star (and highly-deserving outstanding writer winner) Michaela Coel wore a neon yellow custom-made Christopher John Rogers two-piece, a bandeau top adorned with a 6-foot silk organza bow, paired with a matching column skirt. The earrings were by Alighieri and the 14K gold baguette and diamond necklace by Anne Sisteron.

Kaley Cuoco also chose neon yellow, with a Vera Wang gown featuring a center split with strappy shoulders and floral appliqués.

Yara Shahidi brought the iconic 1947’s “New Look” back to the red carpet in a green ankle-length Dior Haute Couture dress paired with Cartier jewelry. The Dior ambassador looked beautiful and gave us old-hollywood glamour with a modern twist. She completed the look with brown pointed court shoes by Christian Louboutin.

It was Dior Haute Couture for Anya Taylor Joy as well, the actress from The Queen’s Gambit was our (and many others) favourite of the evening. She worked with stylist Paul Burgo to achieve this amazing look in a sleek gold gown with a statement yellow train. Two Tiffany & Co. necklaces fell down her back, plus a bracelet, ring and earrings by the jeweler.

This Is Us star Mandy Moore wore a bright red Carolina Herrera spaghetti-strap gown that had a pleated column skirt with a ruffle adding volume. Red satin Christian Louboutin pumps completed her look.

Sarah Paulson also opted for bright red and Carolina Herrera. The taffeta dress, straight out of the latest Spring 2022 collection, featured a low V neck, puffy, balloon sleeves and a dramatic skirt.

Schitt’s Creek actor Dan Levy went for a monochromatic look, matching slightly different hues of cobalt blue. The outfit included a wrap-around gabardine jacket, paired with a button-down shirt and trousers in a lighter shade. All the pieces were part of the Valentino Haute Couture ‘Des Ateliers’ Fall 2021 collection.

Elizabeth Olsen stepped in the red carpet wearing a cream-colored V-neck sleeved gown by The Row, the firm by her sisters Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. The Wandavision star added some sparkle to the minimalist elegance of the dress with Chopard chandelier earrings and rings.

Going for a neutral cream hue as well, Gillian Anderson (one of the winners of the night for her performance in The Crown) wore a custom Chloé two-piece set designed by Gabriela Hearst. It consisted of a cropped top, embellished with silk tassels and deadstock metallic charms, paired with an A-line, floor-length skirt trimmed with fringes.

Kerry Washington went for a beautiful shiny lilac color. Her custom Etro silky slip dress flattered every curve, it had a cowl neckline and the drape of the bust contrasted beautifully with the slight hardness of the visible corset. She paired it with De Beers jewelry.

Of course the classic elegance of total-black looks made its appearance and our favourites are:
Kate Winslet, who took home an Emmy Award for Outstanding Actress, in a very sophisticated Armani Prive, accentuated with sheer sleeves. It was paired with a selection of Fred Leighton jewels.

The Hacks and Mare of Easttown star Jean Smart, who chose a Ralph Lauren dress with see-through neckline and Cathy Waterman earrings.

And finally Billy Porter, who wore a custom-made Ashi Studio ensemble, consisting of a black long-sleeve top and high-waisted trousers with dramatic black ruffles that looked like wings. Of course, he didn’t forget to sparkle with Lorraine Schwartz emerald and diamond jewels.
