Freelance fashion photographer and filmmaker and creative designer Carlos Mimet @carlosmimet presents this gorgeous fashion editorial exclusively created for Vanity Teen online named El Último Día De Verano with the handsome model Lucas Assenza @lucasassenza represented by Uniko Models @unikomodels.
The editorial was inspired by the end of the summer, a moment that has something special for the photographer because of the nostalgia it brings to us when remembering the great moments we’ve lived in the past months. “This editorial talks about leaving behind those moments and starting a new chapter,” he says.
Carlos Mimet got inspired from brands like Ludovic de Saint Sernin or Alled Martinez and creators like Allan Hamitouche and Alasdair McLellan. “This editorial talks about closing a chapter and I needed to close all the pictures from the summer season I wanted to take.”
The equipment used was a Nikon Z6 with a 24-70mm f.4 lens for digital shots; a polaroid instax mini camera and a Nikon F80 with a Kodak Portra 800 film. It was shot at the photographer’s house, a lightfull atic in Barcelona with a terrace from where they shot some pictures in the last hours of sunlight. Carlos himself styled the model, who is only wearing a vintage scarf and a vintage white tank top with some other pieces and the amazing jewelry by Bosphora @bosphora.
“I like to take pictures of young people and try to caputre the brightness of their expressions, the joy of the spontaneous moments while shooting and the nostalgic vibe of the rough analog shots.” Carlos Mimet
Lucas’ attitude was amazing during the shoot, as he “is very sweet and he always makes it very easy to shoot with.” He was playful, but also felt confident and seductive with some of the looks. He wanted to participate in the artistic direction proposing always new thing or new poses. “He always supports my work and was lovely to see him again.”
