Egyptian accessories label MESH–MESH has been named a finalist for Fashion Trust Arabia’s 2026 Fashion Tech Award, celebrating its innovative approach to 3D-printed evening bags, where technology, cultural heritage, and sculptural design meet.
Egyptian accessories label MESH–MESH has been named one of three finalists for the 2026 Fashion Tech Award by Fashion Trust Arabia, an initiative dedicated to supporting and promoting emerging fashion talent across the MENA region (Middle East and North Africa). On November 28, the brand will present its creations to the jury in Doha, Qatar, where the winners will be announced.
Founded in Cairo in 2024 by sisters Shaimaa and Fatma El-Alawy, the brand began as an exploration of the creative possibilities of 3D printing in evening bag design. The result is an aesthetic universe where technology meets imagination, defined by sculptural silhouettes, transparency, and a whimsical, almost dreamlike approach that captures a childlike sense of wonder.

Drawing inspiration from the Moorish architecture of the Alhambra to the legends of ancient Egypt, the designers transform cultural references into accessories that resemble miniature wearable architecture.
Among the brand’s most distinctive creations is the Alhambra Bag, also carried by Lily Collins in its Ruby Red version in the Netflix series Emily in Paris. Inspired by the arches and intricate muqarnas of the iconic Andalusian palace, the bag features a curved, translucent silhouette that captures and reflects light with every movement.

The Sarāb Clutch, meanwhile, explores the concept of a mirage through an interplay of volumes and transparency. A rectangular compartment appears suspended within a fluid outer structure reminiscent of desert dunes. The delicate pattern of the exterior creates an optical illusion, making the inner compartment seem to float and transforming the accessory into an object somewhere between functional design and contemporary sculpture.
