There is no doubt that Taemin (@lm_____ltm/?hl=en) gave us one of the best moments in the K-pop scene these two years, since the release of his album “Never Gonna Dance Again, divided into Act 1 and Act 2“, where he enchanted us with “2 Kids“, “My Idea”, and of course “Criminal” (a favorite of many), showing us a different and a more profound side of the artist to its Shinee’s back comeback. Now with the news that this May 31st he will enlist as part of his military service, the Shinee and Super M artist decided to give Shawols one last gift in his last comeback and amazed them with the release, on May 18, of his third mini-album “Advice“, being the name of the title track and the name of his first mv of the mini-album.

“Advice” is an R&B song with piano flourishes and traps beat composed by Mich Hansen, Daniel Davidsen, Peter Wallevik, Lucas Secon, and Wayne Hector, while the lyrics were written by Jo Yoon Kyung. Regarding the lyrics, seems to be about how prejudices cannot pigeonhole us. For the artist, he cannot be typecast or pigeonholed under a single category or idea as he will always surprise us with something new, taking us into the next level, as the song’s chorus says:
Thе more you try to trap me, I’ll go off the rails so take a good look
If you want to see the end, push my buttons
It’s for you, one advice
Best take my own advice
Focusing on the visual aspect, this is undoubtedly one of the most noteworthy elements given that Taemin shows a fluidity of styles throughout the video, from the iconic use of masks, the Peter Do pieces, to the Supreme-Prada-Telfar-WE11DONE look, all done by Kim Wook ( (I.G. @punkyspider). As one YouTube user (user Made in Busan) puts it:
Long ombre hair, covered in tattoos, wearing a crop top and spitting a rap verse…Taemin can LITERALLY dominate any concept, any genre, any vibe. He is exquisite.
