Despite being just a pre-release of its third upcoming studio album ”Never Gonna Dance Again”, Taemin’s (I.G. @lm_____ltm) latest music video ”2 Kids”, which was released this week (August 4th), leads us into a whole new phase of the artist, where a delving into loneliness, regret, frustration, and sadness shows us a different and deeper side of Taemin, showing that the highly anticipated comeback was worth the wait.

2 Kids: The MV
The musical video starts with an injured and bewildered Taemin, waking up in a street of Paris. As he wakes up and puts himself together flashbacks of last night start to flow, reliving the pain he tried to forget yesterday, which still persists and is expressed through an impassioned choreography that mixes angst, rage, frustration, and sadness..dancing on various locations of la ville de l’amour, passing on some occasions across a multitude of people in opposite direction, as if trying to go against the flow, as if he is refusing to accept things and move on.
Freestyled and Written. 2 Kids was written by Taemin, and the the music video was also choreographed by the 27-year-old K-pop artist himself. As mentioned earlier, 2 Kids serves as a prologue for Shinee’s Taemin’s upcoming album ‘Never Gonna Dance Again’. Before the release of the music video, Taemin told fans on a V Live broadcast:
“My upcoming album [‘Never Gonna Dance Again’] consists of Act 1 and Act 2, and together the two parts tell a story. ‘2 KIDS’ is about growing pains and depicts the story prior to the one in the album. You can think of it as a teaser before the movie called ‘Never Gonna Dance Again.’” Source: Naver
According to the artist, 2 Kids is about youth memories regarding the artist’s first experiences with love.
