SHOOP presented its Fall/Winter 21 collection at London Fashion Week. For this season, the Tokyo/Madrid-based brand by Miriam Sanz and Yohei Oki looked at the concept of transformation, and what better depiction of it than the butterfly to exemplify the concept of continuous loop of renewal and adaptation.
The insect is the common thread across the collection, a proclamation of “The beginning of something wonderful” as seen in some of the pieces. Oversized coats and suits with openings composed the collection where pieces featured the use of animal prints, technical fabrics such as velvet, denim, knitwear, and also patchwork. For this collection, the brand collaborated with X-presion Creativos on a capsule collection that includes a series of exclusive headwear consisting of handmade embroidered caps with hair. The artist collective is one of the most influential artists in the world of hairdressing.
Due to the current pandemic scenario, the collection was showcased in a digital format through a video-campaign produced by Bandiz Studio (I.G. @bandizstudio) and 3D artist Tomás Aciego (I.G. @tomas_aciego). The location of the film with such a metamorphic aura was Hotel Puerta América in Madrid, which manages to portray and emphasized the collection’s concept of transformation since each of the building interiors is the work of different famous architects and designers.
Reconstruct it to re-interpret through the continuous search for new concepts intertwined under the same identity by the world around us with music and culture as main guidelines, SHOOP combines the elegance of classic garments and small details in a sophisticated and sustainable way.
