 Oliver Brynnum: Quite Energetic

The following interview excerpt forms part of our Fall-Winter ’21 issue.

Oliver Brynnum is a young guy who made his family values a lifestyle. He decided to share his way of living on social media, and people began to love his sympathy, travel advice, and workout routines.

Recently, he wanted to add modeling to his résumé and was signed by the worldwide famous agency Le Management.

Despite being the enthusiastic and amusing young man we see every time he shares new content, Oliver Brynnum is a family person who cherishes the love of his close ones and hopes to inspire others to be better with each other and take care of our planet.

We had a conversation, in which he was very candid. I invite you to keep reading what we talked about and understand why being a nice person could be quite energetic.

Feeling like home with Oliver Brynnum

VT: Part of your fame came because of your workout videos. How did you get involved with fitness and a healthy lifestyle?

OB: I’ve had an active lifestyle my whole life, so I’m feeling very lucky knowing that I’m able to have the opportunity to inspire and motivate people now!

I got involved with a healthy lifestyle from my parents. Since my childhood, they always pushed me to do sports, and my mom was a big advocate of eating healthy organic food. She taught me a lot about eating healthy throughout my childhood, whereas my dad taught me a lot about sports. In that way, I was very fortunate.

When I got into my teens, I started getting fascinated by bodybuilders and especially having a six-pack. However, I used to be very insecure in my teens and never had the courage to step out of my comfort zone and sign up for a gym.

When I turned 18, I started hitting the gym and attempted to track my macro nutrition. But like most other 18 years olds, I also loved to party. Once, twice, sometimes even three times a week. Unfortunately, alcohol and partying don’t go hand in hand with a healthy diet and working out, so my results were heavily affected by that.

Not until after I finished 6 months in the army in 2017, I learned the discipline and the sacrifices that are needed to get the results I wanted in the gym. From there, it has only kept growing on me, and it’s such a big part of my life.

VT: What comes to your mind when you think about the word home? What makes you feel at home?

OB: The word home has a special meaning to me. Whenever I hear it, I think about my family, my best friends back home in Denmark, and the beautiful nature there.

Even though I love traveling, meeting new people, learning other people’s perspectives of the world, and getting out of my comfort zone, there is no place like home.

Being around my best friends and family makes me feel at home. The love and affection I get from my family, plus the secure and comfortable settings at home, are what make it home to me.

Being open and never judge anyone

VT: What can you tell us about your experience traveling to such different places as Colombia, Korea, Barcelona, Turkey, or Stockholm? Do you try local food?

OB: Ever since I was a kid, I have been traveling a lot. It has always been a dream of mine to see the whole world.

Thus far, I have had so many different experiences from Miami to Cartagena, in Colombia, to that time spending the winter in South Korea’s bustling mega capital Seoul which is freezing cold during winter, by the way! I am beyond grateful to have been fortunate enough to combine my career with my dream and how much traveling has taught me about life.
