At the end of March, rumors were swirling about talks between the South Korean artist and the international label. Last week, the label released a video in which artists belonging to the label reacted to the news of the then-surprise new member, commenting that he would be a great addition to the label considering the artist’s musical style, being different from other Korean R&B vocals.

As mentioned at the beginning of the post, a day after the announcement a teaser of Jay B’s first single was revealed, which will be released this Friday, May 14 at 6 p.m. KST. The single, called “Switch It Up” was produced by Jay B, Jay Park, and Cha Cha Malone. As if the surprises were not enough, the single is said to feature a special guest.

JAY B’s signing with H1GHR MUSIC concludes the way GOT7 members have settled with their respective record companies after leaving former agency JYP Entertainment last January: Yugyeom with AOMG, Jinyoung joined BH Entertainment, BamBam signed with Abyss Company, Mark Tuan now based in the United States with Creative Artists Agency, Youngjae with Sublime Artist Agency, and Jackson Wang’s label Team Wang signed a joint agreement with Sublime Artist Agency.
