HUARTE unveiled its Spring/Summer 2022 collection, starring new faces model Diogo Lapas at Faces Model Agency Lisboa, and photographed by Hugo Fortuna.
We had a chat with its designer, Victor Huarte, check out the photos of the Spring Summer 2022 collection and our questions below.

Vanity Teen Tell us about this SS22 collection, what was the process and inspiration?
The process was basically to close my eyes and to dream of going back to my childhood vacations, with my family in the Mediterranean. This collection is named “AFTERSUN” because of the sunscreen that my mother used to put on our backs when we were back to the hotel from spending the day at the beach, I will always remember that smell as one of the most special of my childhood.
The process also consisted of watching again the family albums with photos that my mother took with the analog camera, recovering some details and applying that aesthetic in actual pieces: the belt in our denim trousers, for example, comes from the detail of the surf swimsuits that I and my brother used to wear when we were younger. Also, part of the inspiration was the retro aesthetic of Rio de Janeiro in the 70s, which in a way also served as the color palette for the collection.
VT. How does street fashion inspire you?
Continuously, there are millions of stimuli and visual references that we absorb every day and that in one way or another influence our work and DNA as a brand. The simple fact of taking a walk near the sea is a constant inspiration, when you pay attention to any detail, silhouette, accessory, it can become a detail in a collection.
VT. Which celebrity/famous person would you like to dress?
Anyone who identifies with the style of our brand. We don’t want a famous person to wear our clothes for no reason, we want them to somehow identify with our work and feel comfortable in our clothes.
But, of course, we would die to see Manu Rios, Fernando Lindez, Dua Lipa, Marc Forne, Bella Hadid, Rihanna… among many others, with our clothes.
VT. Do you have any projects in development or any medium-long term project?
We are currently presenting our collections on the platform for young designers of Portugal Fashion (fashion week in Porto, Portugal). We have only presented two collections, but the goal is to continue presenting, give visibility to our project, introduce our collections in European (and of course international) markets, and of course: to grow!
Right now we are also talking about some collaborations with international Brands but for now… that’s all!!
