For this issue, we had a conversation to talk about his goals in life and the ways we can reach out and help others. So don’t miss this exclusive Elvis Guetta interview for Vanity Teen
VALUED FOR WHO I AM

VT: What are your passions and motivations?
EG: I have a lot of different passions and motivations. Although, my main
passion in life is football. This sport has always played a big part in my life; it will always do.
My main motivation is to make my family and friends proud of me and show that we can achieve anything through hard work and perseverance.
VT: Which is the most important advice your parents have ever given you?
EG: The most important advice my parents have even given me is to always remain humble, always remember where I come from, and never forget how lucky I am.
VT: There is no doubt that you love your parents, they are both famous, and your father is one of the most popular men on Earth. Thus, have you ever thought that you are more than the son of someone famous and would like people to appreciate you as an individual as well?
EG: Of course, my parents are both very famous and successful. I am very proud of them as well as of the rest of my family. I don’t intend to reject my name or where I come from, but it is extremely important for me to be valued for who I am and what I do, and not for whatever my family may represent.
That is the reason why I am not going to follow my parents’ footsteps in the music industry so that I can make a name for myself and become the greatest in whichever field I work in, in my own world.
GIVE PEOPLE JOY
VT: Doing charity has become a relevant aspect of your life. How did you start to get involved with this kind of social commitment?
EG: Helping other people has always been an integral part of my life. As an individual, I consider myself vastly privileged to be in this position; I always want to give back to those who aren’t so lucky.
I have invested a lot of time during the past eighteen months building this project called Unitedforfootball. It has been a very energy and time-consuming initiative, but going to Senegal for ten days to help out and give people joy was the best feeling I have ever experienced. And this is why I am already working on a second version next summer.
VT: Specifically talking about United for Football and Senegal youth, what is it like to share with young people and use sports to support them?
EG: Sharing with young people has been really amazing because you are helping them as equals, as brothers and sisters, and nothing can match that feeling. It has also been fantastic to be able to exchange experiences, cultures, and points of view on football with young people of my same generation, but from a different environment.
I think that sports are one of the main ways to bring joy to people and connect to whichever background or origin we may be from. When you come to the pitch, everyone is equally treated, and this is the reason why I chose the beautiful game of football to help those in need.
