The fashion and portrait photographer based in Guangzhou, China Kyle Li @KyleLi222 presents this fashion editorial named Diary Of A Boy Under Quarantine exclusively created for Vanity Teen online with the model Serafim @serafimpf represented by Active Models.
Inspired by quarantine and intended to break the stereotype of defining how boys and girls should dress, this editorial reflects those emotions through the models’ acting. “Lots of people get stuck at home during the quarantine, we might get used to enjoy hanging out with friends, but now it’s a good time for us to focus on self-care, enjoying doing things alone, dancing at home, or being in a daze. The most important part is to explore yourself in a way.”

It’s also interesting to talk about boys’ dressing, and this editorial focuses the conversation on that topic. “I asked the stylist for some unisex clothes to be against the stereotype of “boys should be dressing like a true man,” says the photographer.
The equipment used for this shoot was a Canon 5d4, and a Mamiya 645AF, and it was shot at a house with some vintage elements inside, “I am obsessed with the warm yellowish tone, it related to a nostalgic memory. And an outdoor garden next to the house,” says Kyle Li.

The model is wearing different brands such as Fngised, Susi Somos, Edition, and Croquis. “Serafim totally gets my point of showing the feeling of a boy, he felt confident when I told him the storyline when dressing with the unisex clothes. Also, he shows the puzzled time of a teenager by the one looking at the camera, which is exactly what I want to emphasize.”
