This season began with a gentle question: what makes winter joyful?
Too often, winter is defined by gloom and shadow—by cold, darkness, and stillness, but what if there were another way to imagine it?
A winter that feels luminous and airy, quietly comforting in its calm. A winter whose beauty is revealed in hushed, fleeting moments: the first breath of crisp air against the skin; the pale sun, transparent and veiled, unlike the bold, linear light of summer. Its brief, slanted rays drift softly across washed skies, lingering just long enough to be felt.
Guided by this vision, Auralee presents a Fall 26 collection shaped by lightness and clarity—a reflection of winter, illuminated from within by its own delicate glow—unfolding as a quiet dialogue between warmth, lightness, and refinement.
Volumes are shaped with a sense of air and levity. Leather down blousons and sculpted vests, crafted from exquisitely supple calfskin, set the tone and appear to float rather than weigh down the form. Nep-yarn knits and tweeds in the season’s defining hues ground the look with depth and texture, while soft cashmere wrap skirts made from check-patterned scarf fabrics move with unforced ease.
Outerwear remains compact in proportion, yet expansive in expression: voluminous pieces are rendered visually light through thoughtful choices of color and material. Bold color blocking cuts through the winter palette with bright confidence.
Cashmere corduroy reimagines a familiar texture with unexpected lightness and sophistication, while wool herringbone pile offers depth and volume, softened by a considerate hand. Shearling, rendered in finely packed merino mouton, envelops the body in reassuring warmth, distinguished by its smooth, voluminous surface and subtle sheen. Lighter notes emerge through padded wool or silk-linen fabrics, transparent silk georgette, and sheer technical layers, introducing air and contrast, while silk fleece adds a final layer of softness—quiet, cocooning, and intimate.
Tradition is gently disrupted, as substantial cold-weather garments are paired with light or sheer elements, shaping an unexpected counterpoint between protection and delicacy, strength and softness. Colors are anchored by a soft beige and pale blue which lay a foundation of calm, while flashes of vivid blues, radiant yellows, striking reds, and rich purples ripple across the collection like moments of pure joy. Together, these hues weave playful harmonies that brighten the quiet of winter, lifting the spirit and kindling a gentle delight through the season’s muted light—conjuring moments of warmth, joy, and a luminous sense of happiness that lingers in the eye and the heart. www.auralee.jp
