AMOUAGE TAKES FRAGRANCE BEYOND THE SKIN

What if your perfume were never meant to stop at the bottle?

In an age obsessed with personal signatures, scent is becoming less about the final spray and more about the entire ritual.
Amouage, the Omani High Perfumery House founded in 1983 as “The Gift of Kings”, understands that fragrance has always been more than an accessory. Rooted in Oman’s historic relationship with frankincense, the House has built its reputation on compositions where rich raw materials, unexpected contrasts and olfactory complexity collide. Its latest move brings that philosophy closer to the body, reimagining six of its best-loved fragrances across a new Luxury Body Line of bath and shower gels, body lotions, hand creams and hair perfumes.

The idea is deceptively simple: why should a fragrance exist only where you spray it?

Developed under Chief Creative Officer Renaud Salmon, the new collection comprises 19 products, with formulas tailored to their individual fragrances rather than treating scent as a decorative afterthought. Omani frankincense oil runs through the range, connecting contemporary body care to one of the defining materials of the House’s heritage. Perfume concentrations reach 5% in the hair perfumes, extending each composition into a different sensory territory.

Six fragrances. Six distinct personalities. One invitation to make scent a way of inhabiting your own skin.

GUIDANCE

The art of controlled excess.

Created by Quentin Bisch, Guidance moves between juicy pear, hazelnut, saffron and rose, with jasmine and osmanthus adding floral dimension to a deeper structure of sandalwood, vanilla, ambergris and Akigalawood. Its floral amber character thrives on contrast: luminous yet enveloping, tender yet unapologetically complex. In body care, that tension becomes more intimate, transforming a recognisable olfactory signature into a ritual that stays close rather than announcing itself from across the room.

DECISION

Clarity with an edge.

Also composed by Quentin Bisch, Decision opens onto the bright tension of bergamot, pink pepper and cardamom before frankincense, juniper and myrrh introduce a more resinous dimension. Patchouli, cedarwood and vanilla give the composition its lasting structure. The result is fresh woody aromatic perfumery with a darker undercurrent, a reminder that freshness need not mean simplicity. Its translation into body care offers another way to wear that contrast, from the first moments of a shower to the quieter hours that follow.

PURPOSE

The beauty of leaving a trace.

Purpose builds its identity around bergamot, pink pepper and frankincense, moving into pimento berry, rose and earthy vetiver before revealing sandalwood, papyrus, saffron, suede, Mystikal and Akigalawood. The effect is woody and spicy, with a mineral, almost tactile character that evokes dry landscapes and textured materials. Its appeal lies in the tension between rawness and refinement. Extended through a body lotion or shower gel, Purpose turns the everyday into an exercise in olfactory atmosphere.

LOVE DELIGHT

Sweetness without the innocence.

Pascal Gaurin’s Love Delight plays with the codes of gourmand perfumery without reducing itself to dessert. Ginger, mandarin and rose water introduce brightness; cinnamon, heliotrope, jasmine and rose develop a more sensual floral heart, while vanilla, cocoa, rum and cypriol create a warm, almost edible depth. This is gourmand perfumery with a knowing wink: playful, voluptuous and deliberately excessive. Its hair perfume makes particular sense here, allowing a fragrance associated with warmth and indulgence to move lightly through the day.

HONOUR WOMAN

Floral, with the gloves off.

Composed by Alexandra Carlin and Violaine Collas, Honour Woman begins with rhubarb, coriander and black pepper before unfolding into gardenia, lily of the valley, jasmine, carnation and tuberose. Amber, opoponax, leather and frankincense lend the floral structure a more shadowed finish. The result refuses the idea that floral perfumery must be pretty or predictable. There is tension beneath its elegance, and that tension is precisely the point. The new body formats offer a more personal way to explore its layered character.

REFLECTION MAN

Polish is a power move.

Lucas Sieuzac’s Reflection Man reworks the fougère tradition through a more luminous, contemporary lens. Rosemary and pink pepper meet bitter orange leaves, followed by jasmine, neroli, orris and ylang-ylang. Patchouli, cedarwood, sandalwood and vetiver ground the composition in a sophisticated woody finish. The effect is crisp without feeling sterile, polished without losing its sensuality. Its extension into body care makes grooming part of the fragrance experience itself, rather than a separate step before the final spray.

THE NEW LUXURY IS A RITUAL

The significance of Amouage’s reimagined Luxury Body Line lies in the relationship between fragrance and the body. A shower gel creates a scented beginning; a lotion gives the composition another layer of intimacy; a hand cream makes fragrance part of a gesture repeated throughout the day; a hair perfume leaves a lighter, more mobile trail. These are not interchangeable formats, and the House’s decision to tailor its formulas to each one recognises that difference.

The packaging follows the same logic, with fluted bottles inspired by the Amouage emblem, matte sandy tones recalling the Omani landscape and artwork by Louise Mertens reflecting the personalities of the original fragrances.

Available from 19 October 2026 on Amouage.com and at selected standalone boutiques, with distribution through selected retailers worldwide from 2 November, the collection proposes a different understanding of fragrance ownership.

So, what happens when perfume moves beyond the bottle? It becomes less of a finishing touch and more of a personal language, built through texture, repetition and proximity. Amouage is not simply extending six fragrances into body care. It is making the ritual itself part of the signature.
