Paris Fashion Week is getting a visit from Panem. Coinciding with the fashion calendar, Lionsgate will bring ELEGANCE IS AUTHORITY: THE STORY, STYLE AND POWER OF PANEM to the Musée Rodin for a one-day public installation dedicated to the visual world of The Hunger Games.

Presented in the Sculpture Garden of the Musée Rodin, the installation brings together archival looks from across The Hunger Games franchise alongside costumes from the upcoming The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping. The exhibition looks at the clothing, silhouettes and ceremonial styling that have become central to the identity of Panem, where fashion is closely tied to character, status and spectacle.

The Capitol’s exaggerated glamour provides one of the franchise’s most recognizable visual signatures. Elsewhere in Panem, clothing carries a different weight, reflecting the districts, their identities and the political structure surrounding the Games. The installation brings these visual codes together while offering an early look at the costume work created for the newest chapter.

A New Era of Panem

The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping takes audiences back 24 years before the events of the original The Hunger Games. The story begins on the morning of the reaping for the 50th Annual Hunger Games, also known as the Second Quarter Quell, when twice as many tributes are sent into the arena. One of the year’s most anticipated films, Sunrise on the Reaping is set to arrive in theaters next month.

At the center of the story is sixteen-year-old Haymitch Abernathy, played by Joseph Zada, who is selected to represent District 12. Inside the arena, he forms an unlikely alliance with fellow tribute Maysilee Donner, played by Mckenna Grace, while joining a coalition determined to challenge the Capitol’s control under President Snow, played by Ralph Fiennes.

The story follows Haymitch as he attempts to fight the Games from within, setting events in motion that will eventually contribute to the rebellion explored throughout the original series.

Directed by Francis Lawrence, Sunrise on the Reaping is based on Suzanne Collins’ bestselling novel. The screenplay is by Billy Ray and Michael Lesslie, with Nina Jacobson, Brad Simpson and Lawrence producing.

The cast also includes Jesse Plemons, Glenn Close, Kieran Culkin, Elle Fanning, Maya Hawke, Whitney Peak, Kelvin Harrison Jr. and Ben Wang.

Elegance Is Authority

The Paris installation arrives at an appropriate moment for a franchise whose costumes have become inseparable from its storytelling. Across the films, clothing has established the distinction between districts and the Capitol, shaped the public image of its tributes and turned political ceremony into spectacle.

ELEGANCE IS AUTHORITY places that visual history inside one of Paris’ most recognizable cultural spaces. Visitors will be able to see selected costumes up close while discovering pieces created for Sunrise on the Reaping, offering a closer look at the design work behind the newest interpretation of Panem.

The installation will be unveiled during an intimate opening activation on Tuesday, October 6, featuring special appearances by Joseph Zada and Mckenna Grace.

It will then open to the public for one day only on Wednesday, October 7, giving visitors the opportunity to experience the exhibition during Paris Fashion Week.
