ABRA SS27 steps into a distorted world where the miniature universe of Arrietty meets the surreal fantasy of Alice in Wonderland. Playing with scale, exaggerated proportions and unexpected layering, Abraham Ortuño transforms the familiar into something strange, playful and dreamlike. Beneath its apparent innocence, the collection becomes a celebration of individuality.

For its Spring/Summer 2027 collection, ABRA transports us into another dimension, or, more precisely, into an imaginary world where the miniature universe of Arrietty meets the surreal realm of Alice in Wonderland.
“Everything is familiar, but nothing is quite the right size.”
Abraham Ortuño
The two stories offer different yet complementary perspectives on the collection. The reference to Arrietty introduces the idea of observing reality from the point of view of a tiny being, for whom everyday objects, materials and details suddenly take on monumental proportions. Alice in Wonderland, meanwhile, brings with it the idea of constant transformation and of entering a universe where the conventional rules of logic and proportion can be suspended.

It is precisely within this encounter that creative director Abraham Ortuño constructs the collection’s visual language, using scale and distorted proportions as genuine design tools. The result is a wardrobe that constantly shifts between the miniature and the gigantic.
The garments seem to come from an unknown dimension, one in which conventional ways of dressing no longer apply. Silhouettes are turned upside down, dresses appear to merge into one another, layering becomes unexpected, and deliberately clashing, at times almost childlike, colour combinations contribute to a fairytale-like yet uncanny imaginary. Fantastical prints, exaggerated volumes and details blown out of proportion transform the familiar into something new and subtly absurd.

The headwear, featured throughout many of the looks, also plays a key role in this perceptual game. Soft, oversized shapes evoke floral, botanical or fruit-like elements as though seen through a magnifying glass. Rather than functioning simply as accessories, they become extensions of the silhouette and contribute to the construction of each character. Through these elements, one of the collection’s most compelling tensions emerges: innocence and strangeness, where something seemingly naïve slips into a distinctly more surreal dimension.

Yet beneath a collection that may initially appear light-hearted, playful and carefree lies a much deeper impulse: the desire for individuality.
At a time when fashion can feel increasingly neutral, minimal and repetitive, ABRA celebrates those who choose not to blend into the crowd, using clothing to construct a distinctive and recognisable presence. Fashion becomes a tool for imagination and transformation once again: through what we wear, we can reinvent ourselves, create our own character and, above all, communicate it to others. In SS27, exaggeration, volume, strangeness and transformation become tools for characterisation.

The idea expressed by the house, “rather than blending into the crowd, the wearer becomes the character,” perfectly encapsulates this intention. It is not simply about stepping into Alice’s world or Arrietty’s: the person wearing ABRA becomes the protagonist of their own universe.
This exploration is entirely consistent with the language Abraham Ortuño has developed since founding ABRA in 2019, building an aesthetic in which nostalgia, playfulness and apparent innocence coexist with more extreme, ironic and avant-garde elements. With Spring/Summer 2027, this tension is pushed even further: contrast becomes a matter of scale, and the distortion of proportion becomes a means of asserting individuality.
