Lexus and AMBUSH meet in Tokyo for The Future Classic Club, a project blending automotive design, fashion and culture while exploring what makes a true classic.

In an era where everything seems destined to be replaced by the next big thing, Lexus and AMBUSH are moving in the opposite direction. Born from this idea, The Future Classic Club brings together Lexus and AMBUSH, the Tokyo-based brand founded by Yoon Ahn and VERBAL. More than a collaboration between automotive and fashion, the project explores what it means to create something that can outlive the fleeting trends that define today’s culture.

Tokyo provides the natural backdrop, with both brands deeply connected to Japanese culture. On one side is the Lexus IS, a car that emerged in the early 2000s with a different take on the luxury sports sedan. On the other is AMBUSH, which grew from Tokyo’s creative underground into a global name moving across fashion, jewelry, music, art, and pop culture.

The project comes to life through a short cinematic film directed by Xavier Tera, moving between two versions of Tokyo. The first takes us back to the early 2000s, through salarymen, cinematic atmospheres, and illuminated streets, when the Lexus IS was beginning to shape its identity.

Time then shifts to contemporary Tokyo, suggesting that for a classic to endure, it must evolve. What matters is that its identity and essence remain intact.
The film features three figures from today’s creative scene: Sara Choi, professional drifter and founder of Badseki; Reo Sano, a multidisciplinary artist working across dance, music, fashion and acting; and Reiji Okamoto, a musician and DJ whose creative world connects music, design, fashion and art.

Under the creative direction of Yoon Ahn, the Lexus IS also appears in an exclusive capsule collection featuring jackets, T-shirts, long-sleeve tees, caps, and accessories. Rather than simply turning the car into merchandise, AMBUSH translates its design elements into its own visual language, bringing the automotive world into the wardrobe without looking like traditional car merch.
