In this Vanity Teen editorial, the photographer invites us on an introspective journey into the invisible archive we all carry within—a personal universe of memories, images, and emotions that, though often hidden, shape our purest essence.
The project was born from a desire to portray melancholy and solitude through an intimate lens. To capture this suspended-in-time atmosphere, the photographer chose to work digitally, later translating the images into the chromatic world of hand printing. Fixed lenses—a 50mm and a 100mm—were used to achieve a flat, static framing free from distortion, intensifying the feeling of stillness.
The session took place at F.D Studio Barcelona, a raw, minimal space with concrete floors, white walls, and exposed industrial details. This stripped-back environment, devoid of visual distractions, became the perfect stage for a visual dialogue with the deepest thoughts.
Working without predefined photographic references, the photographer relied on his own visual language, seeking light and composition that would evoke a colder, more restrained emotion. Color treatment was approached as if working in an analog darkroom—carefully crafting every tone to preserve both visual coherence and a handcrafted warmth.
The collaboration with Miguel, both subject and stylist, was effortless. His personal aesthetic and seamless connection with the styling team enriched the visual narrative, allowing garments and expressions to merge into a fluid story—a portrait of intimacy where clothing, mood, and memory intertwine.
