We met in the basement of their new store in Paris where a statue of Gaia dominates the room and the atmosphere is calm, out of time.
Anthya Tirado and Jordi Enrique Albert are the founders and respectively creative directors and CEO of MAM, the boundary-defying jewelry brand celebrated for its sculptural, genderless designs and visionary aesthetic.
The opening was a splendid meeting opportunity for sharing feelings and vision.
And Paris now becomes the second city in the world to host a full MAM brand experience, signaling the start of a new era in the brand’s journey.

What is this moment representing for you?
Anthya: This moment is a dream come true.
Having a shop in Paris it’s something we were dreaming about for so long. It’s the beginning of an exciting journey all over the world, we decided Paris was the first city were to open a shop.
Paris is the center of everything, everything happens in Paris, we love Paris.
The next move will be to open one in Mexico City. We already have a great location there and we should be able to open in October.
Jordi: And we hope we hope we can open a store in Milan also within the year. We’re looking for the location, the location and its energy are very important for us.
I want to add that this moment in Paris is really important for us. We come from Barcelona where we have our space in the city center. Everything happens in that place: production, showroom, store. Paris is our showcase on the world, an international showcase.

Tell us something more about the brand. Where and how did you start and where are you going?
Jordi: It was a very long journey.
The idea was to combine art and design, art and accessories.
Six years then passed from transforming the idea into a concrete project with the creation of a jewelry brand that merged the two elements.
Anthya: As jewelery enthusiasts we started this journey, we noticed that everything was the same, there was nothing new ever in the jewelery sector.
Everyone were doing the same thing.
We’re the first who tried to change the things. We tried since the very beginning the way people perceives the jewelry industry.
We said ourselves: “Why we’re not starting playing around the jewelers, making new shapes and forms?”.
And all this changed the game of the jewelers. People understood that there could be something new and interesting in the panorama.
Everything comes with hard work and if we see the designers who inspiring us and actually changed the game we understand even more the importance of work and research.
But we are not afraid, we are constantly evolving.
What’s your favorite piece from all times collections?
Anthya: I have my favorite piece because that’s how we actually started, our Bague Boule piece.
We created this piece a long time ago, it was in our first collection called BLOWUP.
It’s my favorite jewelry piece because I can wear it any time and everywhere.
Furthermore, all the jewels in our collections can be mixed and work together.
You can take risks and have to make different combinations to feel like yourself because this is the power of jewels to make you feel good about yourself.
