Living in a big city, it is difficult to find an open space to spend some time with ourselves. It is always nice to take a small adventure and have a walk alone and just be who we are. This fashion editorial was inspired by that need of being alone and having time for oneself.
In a crowded and busy city like Hong Kong, even suburban areas hiking routes and beaches are full of people. It is difficult to enjoy a relaxing quiet moment. It is always important to have some quality time with ourselves, to have a break from other people from time to time.
“I found this secret place accidently,” says the photographer. “It is very distant from any residential blocks but very close to the border with Shenzhen. As any non-mainstream individual, a busy city like this surely is not the most ideal or comfortable place to be who we are. But we come to the edge of the city, finally we can enjoy some quiet moments and be ourselves and dress as we pleased.”
With sculpture cutting and gender neutral outfits, with brands like Balenciaga, Maison Margielawe, Comme des gracons, and Issey miyake, the team created a queer vibe touch on the styling that really looks amazing and really powerful against the concrete walls as well as enhancing the model’s features.
The equipment used to create this shoot was a Pentax67 and a Sony A7R3, and it took place at a water plant facility, very distant from any residential blocks but very close to the border with Shenzhen.

With such a cold tone background, the final result brings very quiet and minimal vibes. The beautiful sunset daylight and the pop color from the styling add the relaxing feeling into the shots.
