Q) At what age did you realize that you wanted to start your adventure towards your musical career?
A) I’ve been singing since I was a wee lil lad – no one could shut me up. I grew up watching music videos on MTV and dreamed up my own, I knew since elementary school I would be doing music.
Q) Did you find that making connections in the music world was much easier than you initially expected when you first started?
A) No, unfortunately. I worked to make connections by putting out my SAD EP, a collection of bedroom demos, on Tumblr, SoundCloud, etc. in the hope of luring producers to work with.
Q) If you could wish for one thing revolving around your career what would you wish for?
A) I think a lot of artists in the music industry stress too hard about looking cool or following the current trends. I purposefully like to take risks and do the opposite, so I would hope that my music and music videos inspire the listener to do whatever they want and not worry about others.
Q) Being creative can be exhausting. When you have free time and you are taking time away from your creative mind, what do you do to reset your brain and re-center yourself?
A) I take so many bubble baths it’s become stressful. I also like to write books! I wrote a comic book recently based on my ‘insecure’ music video, called INSECURE: Tales of the Dancing Exorcist. You can get it at my merch store sadsupply.com or a digital copy on amazon.com. I also just finished a fantasy novel, I’m working to put out soon.
Q) What has been one of the strangest things that you have seen happen on one of your tours?
A) A girl once threw a cell phone all the way from the back of the room and onto the stage; I was shocked it still worked. I took a selfie on her phone but regretted it because everyone started throwing their cell phones at me.
Q) Have you found that since COVID has hit that you have been having a harder time finding inspiration? If so what are you doing to grow your inspiration back to the level it once was?
A) Surprisingly, lockdown forced me to focus and gave me free time to brainstorm ideas for this new era. I wrote “What a perfect day for crying” in lockdown, and brainstormed all the lyric videos for this album.
Q) One message you would like to share with your fans.
A) I LOVE YOU – thank you for sticking with me and sharing the music. Hopefully, I will meet you all in person when touring starts up again!
