For every K-pop fan, the best way to start/receive the New Year is with the free worldwide online concert SMTOWN Live 2023: SMCU Palace @KWANGYA! The annual event featuring the best of SM artists, from 1st to 4th generation, will include a variety of artist performances and special collaborations!
The concert will be held on January 1 at 13:00 KST (Dec. 31 at 8 p.m. PT or 11 p.m. ET ) and will be streamed on SM Entertainment’s various social networks via YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, Beyond LIVE and Idol Plus. It will also be available for viewing on Southeast Asian platforms such as Indonesia Trans TV, InsertLive, RCTI+, Vision+, Vidio.com, WeTV, Thailand TrueID, Vietnam VieON, POPS, ZING MP3, and Japan KNTV.
The concert will feature a variety of artists from the SM family: Kangta, Boa, TVXQ, Super Junior, Taeyeon from Girls’ Generation, Hyoyeon, Onew from SHINee, Key, Minho, Suho from EXO, Xiumin, Chen, Chanyeol, D. O, Kai, Sehun, Red Velvet, NCT U, NCT 127, NCT DREAM, WayV, Aespa, GOT the Beat, as well as DJ HYO, Raiden, Ginjo, Mavistar, Imray, NCT Johnny.
The event is to be opened with a special performance of the title song “The Cure” from the album ‘2022 Winter SMTOWN: SMCU PALACE’, released on the 26th, a campaign song with a message of sustainable solidarity. It will also feature live performances of the new songs from the year-end album such as ‘Hot&Cold’, ‘Happier’and ‘Priority’.
Prior to the event (12pm KST, ), the company will hold the “SM Sustainability Forum” for the first time. Under the theme of “Humanity and Sustainability,” the forum will discuss the role of K-pop and Hallyu in relation to the global problem of climate change that modern society faces, as well as the sustainable development of the Earth. Experts in each field, such as culture, environment, and society, will participate in the forum. The event will be broadcast through the company’s social media channels.
