As the worlds of fashion and film continue to intertwine, Saint Laurent makes a significant impact in the movie industry. Not long ago, their subsidiary, Saint Laurent Productions, released the trailer for their new short film, “Strange Way of Life.” Now, they’re taking it a step further by announcing the production of a short film by the renowned French director, Jean-Luc Godard.
In a statement, Saint Laurent shared that the unique art project will provide an unconventional portrayal of Godard’s thought process as he imagined, referenced, and crafted visual effects for an unrealized film. This bold endeavor will offer audiences a rare glimpse into the mind of a true cinematic genius.
Jean-Luc Godard, a trailblazer of the French New Wave movement in the 1960s, sadly passed away last September at the age of 91. With iconic films like “Breakdown,” “Madman Pierrot,” and “Outlaws” under his belt, Godard garnered a massive fan following throughout his career.
The Saint Laurent-produced short film will feature costumes and accessories conceived by creative director Anthony Vaccarello and each director involved. Godard’s 20-minute film is set to premiere at the prestigious Cannes Film Festival. Additionally, fans can anticipate an exclusive documentary about the director, as well as a 4K restoration of his acclaimed film, “Contempt.”
