“After six years we finally met again in New York, and we spent a whole day together talking about how our lives changed. He took me to his shop in Soho. I couldn’t be prouder of him,” says the photographer. “Then we went to Isabel Marant showroom, and we saw these beautiful metallic pants, we instantly knew that we wanted to shoot that piece. Until this point, everything was very unclear about what we wanted to do exactly for our shoot. On our way home, we were vibing to Beyoncé’s Renaissance album, then came this song Alien Superstar, and all the dots just connected right there. What would a fashion Alien look like on the moon? I always had this vision of smoked grey fabric background. I guess that’s how my brain was representing the moon all this time, and I couldn’t put my finger on it.”
The equipment used was a Canon 5D MARK IV with PROFOTO lighting, and the shooting took place in Bogart Studio, Brooklyn, NYC.
